Let's face it - we're excited about Project Runway Season 6 coming on August 20th. We're gearing up BPR to meet the needs of our devoted followers but we're also aware that we will gain a new readership. Lifetime has a large audience and many have never had the chance to see our favorite show. Those people will want to know about Project Runway and, when they Google that phrase, they will find us. With that in mind, it was time to start a Blogging Project Runway group on Facebook. Please join our us there - we will make announcements about the new designers, videos, contests and more. And if you haven't dipped your toes into the Facebook pool yet, come on in the water is fine! Let's start Season 6 together as part of the Runway community.

There are only eight more weeks until the August 20th return of Project Runway! That wasn't in the mailbox - I just felt like squealing with delight.

Leanne Marshall gave the Bluefly blog Flypaper a note about her upcoming collection for that online retailer. You can the Bluefly Facebook page to know when that collection debuts or you can check right here. A little fly on the wall tells us that it will be sooner than later.

Reality worlds collided on June 23rd with Season 5 designer Kevin Christiana met up with Real Housewives of New York star Alex McCord at the Second Time Around New York store opening.







Guest of a Guest tells us that Season 1 designer Austin Scarlett joined Fern Mallis and Alex McCord and Simon van Kempen at the Divas Shop for Opera event on June 24th. Speakeasy learns that Austin donated a scarf for the cause.






Season 4 winner Christian Siriano fierced up the Gen Art 15 Anniversary benefit on June 24th. And who else was there? None other than the previous mentioned Silex!

Joe Faris and Jerell Scott

Joe Faris spent Father's Day in Hong Kong working "feverishly" on the Spring '10 Sportswear Collection for Schott. He describes it as "complete with lots of zippers and leatha!"

He stopped in Los Angeles on the way and visited Jerell Scott. Joe believes that Jerells's latest collection is "beyond amazing." We are looking forward to seeing it.

Joe also sends us a photo of his adorable family and admits that he is more than ready for season six of Project Runway.

Project Runway All Stars?

Rumors are swirling once again about a possible "All-Star" edition of Project Runway. These seem to arise whenever fans have a long wait between seasons.

At one point I know that (the former) producers were considering an All-Star edition, but it never materialized.

After the first three seasons, our readers selected the "BPR All-Stars." With several thousand votes, the designers above were selected as the BPR favorites.

This was just for fun, it was never a "real" All-Star competition...

...but wouldn't it be great if it was?

Field Report - Tim Gunn in Nyack

Mark Y brings us this fabulous report from a very exclusive event in Nyack, NY. Thanks Mark!


Tim Gunn came to Nyack on Sunday. Not by kayak, of course, but he was there. He didn't come to sip champagne or to admire an extensive personal art collection or to stare at a view of the Hudson River. That’s why I went. And 99 or so others.

Tim came to work hard to support a local organization, VCS. Volunteer Counseling Service is dedicated to serving those in the community who are in crisis. Tim's appearance kicked off Gay Pride Month in Rockland County (New York).

As you might guess and probably hoped, Tim is beyond friendly and has the charm of ten people. And those traits are matched by stamina. For more than three hours, he signed copies of his book, posed for pictures and had had us all eating out of his hand during a Q&A session. The Q&A was fun, like folks at a party in someone's living room. And that's where we were.



Since he’s always a gentleman I refrained from asking the dishiest questions I could think of. I’m not very fashionable and am only as trendy as the Banana Republic sale corner and I can’t tell the difference between silk charmeuse and ombred chiffon. But I have been curious about something. I asked Tim what Christian Siriano’s path would have been without his success on Project Runway. Tim answered without hesitation and told us that Christian, possessing an old ‘fashion’ soul, would most certainly have ascended to fashion greatness.

He didn't leak any scoops about Season 6 but he's excited about it. And that's good enough for me.
