During the Episode 11 Preview we see the designers with their backs to the runway and when they turn around they have a surprise. What do you suppose it is?
Here is the first preview for Episode 3 of Project Runway and we have a team challenge; "Rumble on the Runway" is the title of the episode and it offers "the biggest challenge yet." Speculation anyone?
Rumors are swirling once again about a possible "All-Star" edition of Project Runway. These seem to arise whenever fans have a long wait between seasons.
At one point I know that (the former) producers were considering an All-Star edition, but it never materialized.
After the first three seasons, our readers selected the "BPR All-Stars." With several thousand votes, the designers above were selected as the BPR favorites.
This was just for fun, it was never a "real" All-Star competition...
Everyone was shocked last week when the judges wimped out (helped along no doubt by the meddling of producers) and failed to send someone packing. Incredibly, Jerell Scott was named the winner yet is still forced to jump through another hoop to make the Final 3. As far as the competition is concerned, his winning design from Nature Calls was no better than Kenley's "Bride of Barney" creation.
So the table is set for one final challenge, one last trick up the Magical Elves sleeve. Heidi hinted at this possibility earlier, but what will be it be? Many who have perused the photos of the finale collections think they know. Let's take a closer look.
For the benefit of the purists, we'll move the specifics to page 2. So if you want to be surprised, stop right here! We'll be looking at some of the finale photos and you need to turn away. If you want to keep going and help us try to guess the outcome this week, then click here!
Thanks to reader Jennifer for noticing that TV Guide has posted the first little tidbits regarding the challenges for episodes 1-3:
Episode 1: The runaway runway hit opens its fifth season with 16 fresh designers on pins and needles: They try to make it work by creating clothes from unusual sources. Episode 2: The designers participate in a green-themed challenge. Episode 3: The clothiers create designs for a client's special day.
Hmmm. Unusual sources, a green-themed challenge and a client's special day. Haven't we seen these before? Let the speculation begin!
You've seen the previews and we've already started in on the speculation here, but lets take a step back and see where we are.
First we have the title of Episode 2: "Money Changes Everything". Is this a budget challenge? Which designers look like they would work well within a budget?
Also, this is clearly a team challenge. Can we tell who is paired with whom? Are there teams of two?
The Bravo on-air promos have also begun touting "the biggest guest judge in PR history". Isn't it a little obvious who that might be? We'll see if any of the earlier published rumors prove true. (Warning: potential spoiler alert on this link.)
It's the question everyone wants an answer to and so far, no one is talking. Designer hopefuls, media and fans alike are all wondering when Bravo will uncork the news on Season 4. But as the days tick away in 2007, we can certainly begin speculating on the timing:
With the recent report from Lee Anne Wong that Season 3 of Top Chef begins filming in Miami later this month, we are making the assumption that TC3 will air prior to PR4. If the report about Parsons being used again as the filming location is accurate, then PR4 will film either in late May - June (similar to S2 and S3) or in August (similar to S1).
In our earlier interview with PR Executive Producer Rich Bye, he guessed that auditions would take place anywhere from mid-March to May at the latest. But here we are in March already, and there hasn't even been a casting call yet!
The most likely scenario we can project at this point is that TC3 will run in the summer (in a similar slot as PR3) and PR4 will air in the late Fall/Winter similar to Seasons 1 and 2, with a finale at OFW in February 2008.
After a much maligned second season of Top Chef and a mediocre performance from their filler series Top Design, do we sense some signs of desperation from the Bravo programming room?
