BPR Field Reporter Trish O visited Emmett McCarthy's boutique last week and sends us this report - thanks Trish!
So last Thursday night I ventured into NYC for Emmett's holiday bash/sale. It's always a treat to visit with Emmett and his staff and to check out the fabulous merchandise.
He had some great new shoes on display as well as some new dresses (and some that were marked down so much that it was impossible to pass them by!) I picked up a cute dress and when I wear it on New Year's Eve, I'll send some pics :)
Emmett's been very busy (and obviously stressed over the economy and its effect on retail) but the store looks great and the event was a lot of fun! (He had one the week before, but the weather did not cooperate - which isn't uncommon for an EMc2 event. I still remember the first big event a few summers back and the monsoon I drove through to get there!)
Tonight from 5:00 - 8:00 enjoy shopping and refreshments at Emmett McCarthy's boutique. RSVP for this event by calling 212 431 4134 or e-mail info@emmettmccarthy.com
Just in time for the holidays you can select fashions tonight on QVC by Season 3 finalist Laura Bennett and Season 2 winner Chloe Dao. Between 8 and 10 Eastern tonight you can watch 'PM Style® -featuring Holiday Designer Gallery.' You can click here to see the elegant and glamorous Laura Bennett offerings and you can click here to see the fun and trendy Chloe Dao garments.
While you're shopping, don't forget that Season 2 designer Emmett McCarthy has some chic handbags (click here) and that Season 1 winner Jay McCarroll also features gorgeous garments on QVC (go to QVC and enter 'Jay McCarroll' in the search box); I always receive compliments when I wear my Jay McCarroll Checkerbox Topper Coat in the grey combo.
Be fabulous on a budget with Project Runway designers and QVC!
Welcome to the return of "Tough Trivia Tuesday." This week we have a prize! Emmett McCarthy has generously donated an autographed Tim Gunn bobblehead, so I thought it was only fitting that the quiz should be all about Emmett.
1. What is the name of Emmett's boutique? 2. What is the name of Emmett's line for QVC? 3. What is the name of Emmett's dog? 4. What color was Emmett's ice skating blouse? 5. Who was Emmett teamed up with for the "Window Dressing" challenge? 6. Who was Emmett's model in the "Six Yards of Muslin" challenge (Road to the Runway?)
Emmett McCarthy and Chloe Dao will be appearing tonight on the QVC program, "Live from Mercedez-Benz Fashion Week," from 10:00 - 12:00 midnight. Click here for the schedule in your time zone. Emmett has designed a brand new line of handbags called "Equation by Emmett McCarthy."
Emmett returns to QVC with his own show on Friday from 4:00 - 5:00 PM.
Next, a chance to meet Heidi Klum! September 9, 2008 at 12pm, NYC Bloomingdale's 59th Street.

The Minx and I ran into Shear Genius Season Two Stylists Glenn Mitchell and Gail Soifer at Emmett McCarthy's boutique on Thursday. They graciously posed for photos in Emmett's designs. These girls are gorgeous aren't they?
Of course we each bought a pair of shoes... read more here.
We also enjoyed a delicious meal at Harold Dieterle's Perilla restaurant. The Top Chef winner was a little shy, but the food was delicious. Malan Breton and Amanda Fields joined us for an early dinner on Wednesday. Red more about our meal here.
Reality Worlds also Colliding in Houston... Robert Reid, interior designer competing on season two of Top Design is working on Chloe Dao's home. Click here for the story. Top Design premieres next Wednesday night at 10:00 - after Project Runway. I've watched the first episode of the new series and I found the designers and the new host, India Hicks, to be very compelling.
NYC-based field reporter, Trish O, was at Emmett McCarthy's Shoe Sale on Wednesday night. Here is her report. Thanks again Trish! Well - a tough and demanding school year has come to an end and after all the work I put into it, I decided that my "sole needed some saving!" so I took a trip into New York City to Emmett McCarthy's "Who Will Save Your Sole?" shoe sale at his EMc2 boutique on Wednesday night! Every time I visit the store, the displays are so different and quite striking. This time the focus was of course - on the shoes!
We headed out to the Hammerstein Ballroom for the A-List Awards, picked up our tickets in the lobby (thanks Andy!) and headed for the party. The first "Bravo-lebrity" I saw was Oscar from "Step it up and Dance." Next I met Peter Shelton and realized that I should maybe get my camera out.
Kara Janx is lovely and we admired photos of Baby Dylan.
Kit Pistol and Kevin Christiana were adorable.
Here are three more of our Season Two Favorites - Diana Eng, Chloe Dao and Emmett McCarthy.
